Tree pruning and tree trimming are frequently used interchangeably as synonyms, however the actual methods are usually very unique from one another.
Trimming is typical done for aesthetics purposes, for appearance.  Pruning is performed to promote better overall health and well being of a tree, or often to prevent disease from spreading. Would you like to maximize the quality and quantity that your fruit trees produce every season?
Our crews have extensive experience in all types of fruit trees, and they are very familiar with how to increase your yield.  Once our team comes to your property to do our job, we will always review with you the various techniques we employ, so you will be more capable of maintaining the health of your trees on your own, at least to some degree.

Decaying or dead limbs are a very common occurrence in all trees, and can spread throughout the tree.  The amount of this tendency depends on the species of the tree.  This can even spread to surrounding greenery if certain fungi or parasites are involved.  If you are not familiar with exactly how and where to do your tree cutting and tree pruning, this can do more damage than already exists, depending on the season and the species.  For these reasons, our company uses only the advanced pruning equipment and machinery, to insure that we can address even the tallest or thickest trees.  So don't make the mistake of wasting any of your time and money.  Let our  professional staff take care any of these problems before it's too late.

THE REASONS FOR PRUNING:
  • Increase the growth of certain species can be achieved with different pruning techniques, and performing these at the appropriate time.  If there are any plants in your lawn that are not growing exactly the way you expected, let our professional arborists come to your property, and assist mother nature, to achieve the desired results you have in mind.
  • Preventing pests and disease from spreading to other parts of your tree are the most important reasons to prune your trees in a prompt manner, especially if any branches are showing signs of infection.  Rotting branches make the perfect habitat for termites, ants, and other organisms, and these can spread to any and all vegetation in the area.
  • Maintaining a natural and healthy appearance is performed by carefully pruning the aggressive branches that frequently grow inconsistently with others, and could affect other branches or potentially even the entire tree, if not approached in a prompt manner.  It is common for these branches such as these to grow into one another and can ultimately cause significant damage over time.
  • Preventing property damage or injury  by pruning branches that are at risk of falling on either a person or any property you own that is positioned under the tree.  You may have liability if any damage or injury is caused by trees on your property, and taking the necessary precautions by eliminating these risks is the best approach.
  • Increasing flower & fruit blooming with certain species of trees requires some difficult and intricate techniques, and a high degree of knowledge and skill is required.  We employ only the most experienced and professional arborists, and we have mastered the many techniques utilized for specific trees.  We are very happy to share our knowledge with you, and teach you how to maintain the work we've performed, to provide you with a maximized yield of fruit and flower.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I PRUNE?
Many factors are involved in determining when pruning your trees will be the most effective.  The most important aspect is knowing exactly what your preferences are.  Tree pruning is a very challenging aspect of our work.  There are different styles and techniques that we utilize.
  1. Basic pruning of decaying or dead branches, and the general cleaning up of a tree can be performed anytime of the year, and will always be beneficial to the tree's overall health.
  2. If the growth of the tree is the desired result, pruning in the winter season is ideal, especially after the coldest months have passed.  Proper pruning in the winter sort of tricks the tree into compensating for the lost limbs, and when spring arrives, there will be an extra burst of nutrients throughout the tree, causing stimulated growth.
  3. If a tree has grown larger than you desired, and you prefer to reduce the growth rate, summer is the most effective time of year for pruning, and better if the seasonal growth has already passed.  This reduces the amount of open leaf surfaces, which create the food that is delivered it to its roots.  By reducing the open surfaces, the amount of food absorbed is reduced and thus will stunt the growth rate of the tree.
